Our
first destination on the South Island was Abel Tasman National
Park, along the eastern part of the north shore. There was
plenty to do in the beautiful outdoors, particularly hiking
and kayaking. Shuttle boats running up and down the coastline
made the remote areas quite accessible, and we took advantage
of one to hike one-way along the first 20km (of the 51km length)
on the famed Coastal Track.
